| James Oswald wrote two sets of Airs for the Seasons, each season comprising twelve pieces; a total of ninety-six miniatures, each descriptive of a plant allocated to its due season. The original pieces survive in figured keyboard form (also available) but have been arranged as trio sonatas. The items for Spring are: Anemone, Auricula, Catchfly, Cowslip, Crocus, Crown Imperial, Daffodil, Duck's Foot#, Friar's cowl, Gentinella, Hyacinth, Jonquil, Laburnum, Lady's mantle, Lilac, Narcissus, Pheasant's eye, Polyanthus, Primrose, Pyracantha, Ranunculus, Rocket, Star of Bethlehem#, Tulip.
