Jeremiah Clarke (c.1674 - 1707) A wife for any man (String or reed band) | |||||||||
| Incidental theatre suite. Conceived for strings, but also suitable for wind or brass bands. Three act tunes, surviving in manuscript, from a lost play by Thomas Durfey, 1696. The First Act Tune bears more than a passing resemblance to the tune of the song "How stands the glass around?", a favourite of General Wolfe and sung at Quebec the night before his death.
