A motet for St Cecilia's Day published in Liber Setimus Cantionum Sacrarum, Louvain, 1559. This edition is offered at original pitch (high chiavette) for S.A.A.T. or transposed down a fourth for A.T.T.B.
Lyrics: Latin Antiphon

Virgo gloriosa semper evangelium Christi
gerebat in pectore suo;
et non diebus neque noctibus
a colloquiis divinis et oratione vacabat.
Domine Jesu Christe, pastor bone,
seminator casti consilii,
suscipe seminum fructus quos in Caecilia seminasti.
Sancta Cecilia ora pro nobis.

That glorious virgin always carried
the gospel of Christ in her breast;
in neither day nor night did she cease
from communion with God or from prayer.
O Lord Jesus Christ, good shepherd,
author of ethical advice,
reap the fruits of that seed that you sowed in Cecilia.
Saint Cecilia pray for us.
