Lyrics: Clément Marot

Un jour d'hiver Robin tout éperdu
Vint a Catin, présenter sa requête
Pour dégeler son chose morfondu.
Et ne pouvant quasi dresser la tête,
Incontinent Catin fut toute prête.
Robin aussi prend courage; sa croche
on se remue on se joue on se hoche;
Puis quand ce vint au naturel devoir
A dit Catin: "Le grand dégel s'approche
"C'est mon", dit-il, "car il s'en va pleuvoir".

So one winter's day Robin, well worked-up,
Comes to Catin to importune her
To unfreeze his listless whatsit.
And, although finding it hard to revive the dead
(as it were), Randy Catin goes at it well quick.
And Robin takes courage too; his bent thing
Is fiddled with, shaken, played with;
Then, at the natural consequence,
Catlin says: "The great thaw is nigh";
"'For me, it is", he says, "'cause a hard rain's gonna fall".
