Cathin en mal d'enfant criait:
"Secourez-moi ou je suis morte".
Son pauvre mari son criait
Qui vint pour entrer dans la porte.
Dit-elle: "Le diable t'emporte!".
Sage-femme, coupez son cas
Pour lui couper le mettant bas".
Mais Cathin si en eut remords
Et lors dit: "Ne lui coupez pas,
Car je lui pardonne ma mort".

So in childbirth Cathin screams:
"Help me or I'm a goner".
Her poor hubby, who's run
To enter by the door, wails loudly.
Says she: "The devil take you!
Thump him, midwife, to contain him,
While I'm giving birth".
But Cathin is then most remorseful
And so she says "Don't give him a slap,
For I absolve him of my death".
