Souvent je veux baiser Catin,
Laquelle n'ose pour sa mère
Me baiser ni soir ni matin;
Qui est dure chose et amère.
Un jour la mère, par mystère,
Fut déçu sans y viser.
Catin veut l'enfant apaiser,
Mais elle entend bien son latin,
Lors je fais semblant de baiser
L'enfant et je baise Catin.

I wish to kiss Catin frequently,
But she daren't kiss me night and day,
Because of her mother;
Which is cruel and leaves a bad taste.
One day her mother, mirabile dictu,
Was fooled without her catching on.
Catin wants to calm the baby,
And she hears Latin well enough,
So in a simulacrum of kissing the kid,
I kiss Catin!
