A setting of a text variously allotted to Quadragesima or to the Feast of the Maccabees. Popular during the last quarter of the sixteenth century, the text attained unwelcome relevance in Germany during the Thirty Years' War. From Promptuarii Musici concentus ecclesiasticos, Strassburg, 1627.
Lyrics: Anon

Fear not the onslaught of thine enemies.
Remember how our fathers were saved.
Remember the miracle he performed against Pharaoh and his armies in the Red Sea.
And now let us shout to heaven, and may our Lord God be merciful.
