N.B. The bass drum, triangle and tambourine etc. will easily be added in the lively airs as the judgement of the Leader shall direct. London, c.1804.

Schetky commenced his career as cellist in the Darmstadt court orchestra, but was contracted by the publisher Robert Bremner to play in the St Cecilia's Hall (Edinburgh) concerts in 1772. He spent the rest of his life in that city, becoming a pillar of the musical establishment.
