Lyrics: Anacreon (trans. John Addison)

As a rosy wreath I bound,
'Mongst the roses love I found.
Swift I seiz'd his pinions fast,
And in wine the wanton cast.
Taking then the laughing cup
Swift I drank the wanton up.
Now with ever-tickling wings
Up and down my breast it springs.
