From Melodiae sacræ... Auctore D Petro BonHomio, Frankfurt, 1603.
Lyrics: Anon
Audite ergo quemadmodum Maria cantaverit.
Now give praise on instruments, and let the timbrels rattle in rapid beats for a new birth.
Joyful quiristers celebrate in song, and in differing measures add their sweet-sounding songs.
Listen then how Maria celebrates through music.
For she affirms: "My soul doth magnify the Lord: and my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.
For he hath regarded the lowliness of his handmaiden: for behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed".
