Thumoth published two books, each of a dozen airs with variations for German (transverse) flute or violin, with bass: a mixture of English, Irish and Scottish airs, both traditional and more contemporary. Burk classed this as Irish, but sources overwhelmingly ascribe its origin to Scotland.
