Lyrics: Anon
So Frerot goes to the Franciscan monastery one day,
To study the beauty of the place.
Peering into one space he sees
A painting of St Francis above God.
He goes right in and stops in the middle,
Asking of a brother in his path:
"Why isn't God seated at the top there?"
He replies "Because that would be silly:
You know the ubiquitous rule, that every man
Is master in his own household".
