Lassus' setting of the story of Joseph's reconciliation with his brothers.
Lyrics: Genesis 45: 3,4,13,26-28 (adapted)

Dixit Joseph undecim fratribus suis:
Ego sum Joseph quem vendidistis in &Aelig;gyptum.
Adhuc vivit pater noster senior, de quo dixeratis mihi?
Ite adducite eum ad me ut possit vivere.

Nuntiaverunt Jacob dicentes:
Joseph filius tuus vivit, et ipse dominatur in tota terra &Aelig;gypti.
Quo audito revixit spiritus eius et dixit:
Sufficit mihi, vadam et videbo eum antequam moriar.

Then Joseph said unto his eleven brethren:
I am Joseph your brother whom ye sold into Egypt.
Is our aged father, of whom you spoke to me, still alive?
Go, bring him here to me, that he may flourish.

They told Jacob saying:
Joseph is yet alive, and he also is governor over all the land of Egypt.
Then the spirit of Jacob their father revived, and Jacob said:
I have enough, I will go and see him yet I die.
