From Flores melodici, Douai, 1611. Probably written for St Cecilia's Day celebrations particular to that city. This edition is offered at original pitch (high chiavette) for S.S.A.T.T.B. or transposed down a fourth for the same forces.
Lyrics: Anon

Annua Cæciliae venerunt tempora divae.
Plectra sacrae mihi det virgo Thalia lyrae;
Solemni resonet templum Venerabile cantu;
Voce preces moveas supplice quisquis ades.

The yearly festival of saint Cecilia has arrived.
May the virgin Thalia bestow on me the plectra of her holy virginals.
May the holy church resound with solemn song.
May you - whoever may be here - offer up prayers with a suppliant voice.
