149394 : Avenarius (Habermann) : Vox in Rama : sheet music
Catalogued as Choral - Sacred (Christmas)

Motet for the feast of the Holy Innocents from Cantiones Sacræ, Nuremberg, 1572.
Lyrics: Jeremiah 31:5

Vox in Rama audita est, lamentatio ploratus et fletus magnus.
Rachel plorans filios suos, noluit consolationem admittere propterea quod non sunt.

A voice was heard in Ramah, a mourning and bitter weeping.
Rachel, plaining for her children, refused to be comforted, because they were not.
