Short life to stepmothers - Mrs Garden of Troup's reel - Miss Herron's reel - Mrs McDonald Grant's strathspey - Mrs Morthland's reel - Lady C. Keith's reel

A Collection of Scottish music consisting of twelve slow airs & twelve reels and strathspeys arranged for a military band...Respectfully dedicated to His Excellency Earl Moira, Commander in Chief of His Majesty's forces in Scotland. N.B. The bass drum, triangle and tambourine etc. will easily be added in the lively airs as the judgement of the Leader shall direct. London, c.1804.

An example of the kind of arrangement for a typical military band made for performance at regimental dances and similar social occasions.

Schetky commenced his career as cellist in the Darmstadt court orchestra, but was contracted by the publisher Robert Bremner to play in the St Cecilia's Hall (Edinburgh) concerts in 1772. He spent the rest of his life in that city, becoming a pillar of the musical establishment.
