Moorehead (or Muirhead), a Scotsman settled in Athlone, composed a reel to commemorate the battle of the Nile, entitled "The Naval Pillar". It was used in a comedy produced in London entitled "Speed the Plough", the name under which the tune subsequently became popular.
This arrangement was made by Butler and published in Edinburgh, 1804.
