Thomas Linley was the head of a musical Bath family several of whose children achieved a national reputation. He was most successful with his operas, but also wrote chamber choral works.
Lyrics: Abraham Cowley

Let me, careless and unthoughtful lying,
Hear the soft winds above me flying,
With all their wanton boughs dispute,
And the more tuneful birds replying,
Till my Delia, with her heav'nly song,
Silence the wanton boughs and birds that sing among.
