Lyrics: 1 Samuel 18: 6,7 (adapted)

Filiæ Hierusalem egressæ sunt in occursum Saul regis,
cantantes in tympanis lætitiæ et dicentes:
Saul percussit mille et David decem millia.
Et appropinquantes ad eum, ecce David præcedebat
ferens caput Goliae, et lætantes sunt valde
et præcinebant laudantes et dicentes:
Saul percussit mille et David decem millia.

The daughters of Jerusalem came out to meet king Saul,
sang by course in their play, and said:
"Saul hath slain his thousand, and David his ten thousand".
And they coming near to David, he stood before them,
bearing the head of Goliath, and they were exceeding joyful,
and went on before him, praising him and saying:
"Saul hath slain his thousand, and David his ten thousand".
