Jenin fit tuer son porceau;

Sa femme après dans son grand seau
Les tripes mit. Elle va loin,
Disant: "Pour le friand morceau
J'aurai l'andouille et vous le groin".
So when St Martin's Day comes round,
Jenin has his pig slaughtered;
And, at the morning's end, sears it
With smouldering straw, in large gobbetts.
After this, his wife puts the tripe
In her large pail. Then she walks away,
Saying: "For the choice bit
I'll have the chitterlings and you'll have the snout".
