Si le vouloir adoucit la douleur
Et l'avoir vu de penser se contente,
En pâlissant je embellis ma couleur;
En m'absentant assez je me présente.

If desire ameliorates pain
and, having seen it, is satisfied with contemplation,
then by taking a pallor I make my colour more attractive;
and by absenting myself I introduce myself sufficiently.
