Catalogued as Choral - Secular (Chansons)

Lyrics: Anon

Sous l'aubépine les suivre de sa voix;
On n'ouit onc si plaisante musique.

In this lovely month, this season of renewal,
when trees and leas clothe themselves in greenery,
the sweet nightingale is often heard in the woods,
warbling throughout night and day.
Margot, who studies her habits, is seen
under the hawthorn, imitating her song.
She combines with her gracious, courteous
mate, in sweet tunefulness.
In a nutshell, when spirits are most blithe,
no other music that pleasant is heard.
